Former India batting coach Sanjay Bangar has predicted that Chennai Super Kings (CSK) will emerge victorious over Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in Match 43 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. Bangar backs Dhoni’s spin strategy

Appearing on JioHotstar’s Match Centre Live, Bangar praised CSK’s evolving strategy, particularly their spin-dominant bowling unit and increased focus on nurturing young talent. “I believe CSK will win against SRH. CSK’s spin strength, backed by MSD, will be key, and they’ll ensure there’s assistance for the spinners. The team is evolving, moving away from its earlier pattern with more focus on youngsters. SRH, on the other hand, has been inconsistent,” he said.

With the Chepauk pitch traditionally favoring spinners, Bangar believes CSK holds a critical edge. Even in a season marred by inconsistency and injury setbacks—including the loss of their regular captain to an elbow injury—the five-time champions look to their spinners and young guns for a turnaround.

CSK and SRH both battling poor form

Chennai started IPL 2025 with a win over Mumbai Indians but failed to sustain momentum, managing only two wins from eight matches. They currently languish at the bottom of the table. Their most recent outing ended in a crushing nine-wicket defeat to MI.

SRH, too, have endured a disappointing campaign so far. Last year’s finalists opened their 2025 journey with a win against Rajasthan Royals but followed it up with six losses in their next seven games. They sit just above CSK at the ninth spot with an identical 2-6 record. In their previous match, they went down to MI by seven wickets.

Head-to-head favors CSK

The stats strongly back CSK ahead of the upcoming fixture. Out of 21 encounters between the two sides, Chennai has emerged victorious 15 times. At Chepauk, CSK boasts a 100% record against Hyderabad, having won all five matches played at the venue.
