Deepti Sharma Hits Winning Six and Leads London Spirit to Maiden Hundred Final Trophy

Another thrilling edition of the Hundred Womens ended with some unforgettable memories. After having an exciting season, Welsh Fire Women and London Spirit Women faced each other in the final match. After delivering an outstanding performance, London Sprit lifted their maiden trophy. Deepti Sharma smashed the winning six and secured the trophy. 

The Winning Shot by Deepti Sharma:

After having an exciting tournament, Welsh Fire Women and London Spirit faced each other in the final match of the Hundred Women 2024 final. The Lords witnessed the thrilling match. While batting in the second innings, London Spirit showcased their brilliance and lifted their maiden Hundred Trophy. Deepti Sharma played a crucial role in securing the victory. 

After the 97th delivery, London Spirit needed 4 runs needed of 3 balls. Deepti Sharma was on strike. Matthews bowled, and Deepti charged down the pitch, lofting the ball high. Ismail at long-on couldn’t hold on as the ball slipped through her grasp and landed beyond the boundary cushions. The drop resulted in a six, securing the win.

After that beautiful over-boundary, praises came all the way. After hitting the six, Deepti shared her expression. She said, “To hit the six to win the game, a great feeling, I was not nervous, I had confidence I could do it. I think positive!”

Maiden Trophy for London Spirit Women:

After having an incredible journey throughout the tournament, both teams locked horns in the match at the Lord’s Cricket Ground. After winning the toss, London Spirit Women won the toss and opted to bowl first. While batting first, Sophia Dunkley was dismissed early. Tammy Beaumont and Hayley Matthews tried to build a partnership. Jess Jonassen scored an amazing half-century and played a knock of 54 runs in 41 balls.
