Delhi Capitals suffered a major blow on Sunday as their four-match winning streak came to an end. Mumbai Indians defeated them by 12 runs in a tense match at the Arun Jaitley Stadium. However, what followed after the game drew more attention than the result.
Shortly after the match, chaos erupted in the stands. A video clip went viral showing fans engaged in a physical fight. Punches flew, tempers rose, and even a female fan got caught in the brawl.
Security personnel rushed in to control the scene. Despite their efforts, the incident raised major questions about fan safety and stadium crowd management during IPL games.
On the field, things got equally heated. During Delhi’s chase, Karun Nair collided with Jasprit Bumrah while running between the wickets. Nair, who scored a blistering 89 off 40 balls, was visibly frustrated. He tried to explain himself to Bumrah, but the conversation turned into an argument.
Mumbai skipper Hardik Pandya quickly intervened. Rohit Sharma, standing nearby, reacted in an animated manner. His expressions were caught on camera and quickly went viral on social media.
Adding to Delhi’s bad day, captain Axar Patel received a fine of Rs 12 lakh for a slow over rate. It was his first offence this season under IPL’s Code of Conduct. The fine added salt to the wounds as Delhi slipped from the top of the table.
Mumbai’s narrow win brought them back into the playoff race. Their bowlers held their nerve in the final overs. Jasprit Bumrah delivered a tight spell, showing his class under pressure.
The IPL 2025 season continues to thrill fans, both on and off the field. With high-intensity games, player clashes, and crowd drama, every match feels like a final.
