Kolkata Knight Rider’s cooking show ‘Knight Bite’ celebrated Poila Baisakh (Bengali New Year). The show featured three players from the squad. These included Quinton De Kock, Anrich Nortje and Manish Pandey. The players engaged in a special fusion cooking session before their match against Punjab Kings.
In the video, KKR opener Quinton de Kock mentioned his love for cooking. The South African said that he does all the cooking in the kitchen while his wife chills. “I live in the kitchen back home. My wife chills, I do all the cooking,” de Kock said. The opener is quite familiar with cooking and enjoys the process.
Quinton de Kock and Anrich Nortje both love fishing. De Kock said in the video that it is a good way to spend time with friends. His reason for getting drawn to it: “The adrenaline rush you get from it… places around the world you go to… I’ve been all over like the Amazon, St. Charles, and going to mid-Africa for a good time with friends,” de Kock mentioned.
He said that it creates a perfect connection with cooking where they prepared fish they didn’t have to catch.
The show featured a unique fusion of tastes. They wrapped fish and prawns in banana leaves and grilled them in an air fryer.
Pandey mentioned his long association with he team. He won the IPL in 2014 with the KKR. The batter said, “My first time for KKR and my first trophy also, so it was a lot of fun. The entire season we worked hard, and then final game, luckily that match was in Bangalore and because I live in Bangalore, it was a very memorable moment.”
The cricketers celebrated the cultural fusion and enjoyed the food. The episode was dedicated to the Bengali New Year, and the South Africans even attempted to say “Shubh Nobo Borsho” (Happy New Year in Bengali).
