The fourteenth match of IPL 2025 features the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) facing off against the Gujarat Titans (GT) at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. Winning an important toss, Gujarat Titans’ captain Shubhman Gill has elected to bowl first, citing consistency in the pitch and the conditions as the reason. However, the big news ahead of the match is the absence of Kagiso Rabada from the GT playing XI. Arshad Khan comes in his place.
Shubhman Gill, leading the Gujarat Titans, cited the consistency in the conditions and the pitch as the reason behind his decision to bowl first. He mentioned that they want to fine-tune certain areas. “ We’ve seen the conditions don’t change much. We’re all about reducing our unforced errors. We’ll try to fine-tune the areas that need it. Kagiso misses out due to personal reasons so we’ve got Arshad Khan back.” Gill mentioned at the toss.
Gujarat Titans are playing with key bowlers like Rashid Khan, Ishant Sharma, Mohammed Siraj, Prasidh Krishna and Sai Kishore.
Rajat Patidar, RCB captain, mentioned that he would’ve liked to bowl first too. He explained that the surface is new, and they would’ve liked to know it better. But he mentioned that it is pretty hard and won’t change much. “ We’ve seen the conditions don’t change much. We’re all about reducing our unforced errors. We’ll try to fine-tune the areas that need it. Kagiso misses out due to personal reasons so we’ve got Arshad Khan back.” Patidar said.
Gujarat Titans have made one change in the team. South African fast-bowler Kagiso Rabada misses out today. He is replace by Arshad Khan. Shubhman Gill mentioned that Rabada is not playing today for ‘personal reasons’.
