Jofra Archer is a formidable bowler of England. But he faced injury setbacks in the major parts of his career. After a long injury, he came back to represent his nation in the T20 World Cup. Earlier this year, ECB managing director Rob Key stated that England would not rush Jofra Archer across formats. Key emphasized that Archer will focus on white-ball cricket first before making his return to Test matches.
He said, “The whole plan with Jofra is he’s going to play white-ball cricket for this summer and going into the winter. Then hopefully next summer, when we play India and then onto the Ashes, we get him back for Test cricket. It’s a slow process to get him back for all forms.”
