KKR create history. Become the first team to do this in IPL

The Kolkata Knight Riders have won the match against the Sunrisers Hyderabad by 80 runs. It is a great boost to KKR’s net run rate.

With this win, KKR has set a new record. They have become the first team in the league to have 20+ wins against three teams. They already had 21 wins against the Punjab Kings (PBKS) and 20 wins against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB). Now, they have won their 20th game against the Sunrisers Hyderabad too. This makes them the first team to do it.

The record for a team to win the most games against an opponent is with the Mumbai Indians. Interestingly, it is against none other than KKR. MI have won 24 games against KKR. KKR, on the other hand, have been able to win only 11 games against Mumbai Indians. Mumbai Indians have also won 20 times against the Chennai Super Kings. Besides that, the Chennai Super Kings have won 21 games against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB). Thus, RCB feature twice in the list, albeit on the losing side.

KKR win big against SRH

In the 15th match of the season, KKR have defeated the Sunrisers Hyderabad by a big margin of 80 runs. KKR scored a massive 200/6 in 20 overs. The pitch was not the easiest to bat on as the ball was sticking. KKR lost both their openers cheaply as they were 2 down for just 16 runs. However, captain Ajinkya Rahane and Angkrish Raghuvanshi steadied the ship with an 81-run partnership.

Towards the end, Venkatesh Iyer and Rinku Singh contributed to the total as well. Iyer scored an impressive 60 off just 29 balls. Rinku also played a cameo, scoring 32 off 17 balls.

In reply, SRH lost their way completely. The score was 9/3 in just 2.1 overs. They never fully recovered from it. There were some contributions from the middle order. Heinrich Klassen, Kamindu Mendis and Nitish Kumar Reddy got the starts, but no one could settle down and take the attack to the bowlers. SRH was bundled out for just 120 runs. They have now lost 3 consecutive matches after starting their season on a high.
