Shah Rukh Khan surprised the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) dressing room after their 80-run win over Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in IPL 2025. The Bollywood star sent a heartfelt and funny message, which left the players smiling — and Quinton de Kock a bit confused.
KKR posted 200/6 after being asked to bat first. Venkatesh Iyer smashed 60 off 29 balls. Youngster Angkrish Raghuvanshi scored 50 from 32. Rinku Singh and Ajinkya Rahane added useful runs.
SRH never got going in the chase. KKR bowlers dominated. Vaibhav Arora, Sunil Narine, and Varun Chakaravarthy picked crucial wickets. SRH folded for just 120.
After the game, KKR shared a video from the dressing room. In the clip, CEO Venky Mysore read Shah Rukh Khan’s message aloud.
SRK wrote: “Wow! I guess the secret to such gameplay is that I should come on screen before every match!”
King Khan praised Angkrish for his calmness and class. He called Ajinkya Rahane’s knock “fantastic” and told Venkatesh Iyer to “just spend time at the crease.” He also applauded Rinku Singh’s smile and fighting spirit.
SRK praised bowlers too. He called Narine and Varun “magical.” He appreciated Harshit Rana, Vaibhav Arora, Moeen Ali, and Russell for executing their roles well.
SRK ended with a funny note: “One learning from this match — listen to what Quinny says.”
The camera then panned to Quinton de Kock. The South African looked puzzled. The room burst into laughter. Nobody knew if it was an inside joke or praise for his cricketing brain.
Shah Rukh Khan has owned KKR since 2008. He regularly sends motivational messages. His presence lifts the team both on and off the field.
This latest message mixed humor and heart. It reminded fans and players why SRK is more than just a co-owner.
KKR will face Rajasthan Royals next. The match is at Wankhede Stadium. The team will aim to continue their winning run.
