Eighteen-year-old batting prodigy Angkrish Raghuvanshi announced himself on the IPL stage with a dazzling knock for the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) against the Delhi Capitals in Visakhapatnam. Following his dream debut, Raghuvanshi expressed his gratitude to his childhood coach, Abhishek Nayar, at a post-match press conference. “Abhishek Nayar is my guru,” Raghuvanshi declared. He elaborated on Nayar’s significant influence, explaining, “The way he made me practice, put in tough circumstances, was enough for my experience when I played my first innings. He helps me everywhere; from what I eat, practice, work, and all.”
Raghuvanshi’s dedication and commitment are evident in his decision to relocate to Mumbai at a young age to train under the watchful eye of Nayar. Interestingly, Nayar’s current role as assistant coach for the KKR franchise brings him full circle, witnessing his protégé’s rise to the IPL stage. At the club level, Raghuvanshi honed his skills playing for Mumbai’s Apollo Cricket Club.
