“England 90 in arrears.” England and Sri Lanka First Test Sparks Twitter Frenzy Over Dramatic First Innings

In the first innings of the Test match, Sri Lanka witnessed some serious turmoil. England is facing some struggles while batting in the first innings. After watching this, the fans took Twitter on storm. 

The Turmoil of Sri Lanka and England:

On the first day of the first Test match between India and England, Sri Lanka won the toss and chose to bat on a hard. But they failed to utilize the favor and gained little advantage. England’s side got off to a strong start despite the conditions. Gus Atkinson got the first breakthrough. Just after that, Chris Woakes dismissed Nishan Madushka. That was an early setback. After that, they lost three wickets consecutively. Standing on a crucial point, captain Dhananjaya de Silva and Milan Rathnayake made an effective partnership.

While batting in the first innings, England had an average start. Opener Ben Duckett was dismissed scoring only 18 runs. Dan Lawrence was also dismissed on 30 runs. In the absence of skipper Ben Stokes, Ollie Pope is leading the team. But he lost his wicket after scoring only 6 runs. On the other hand, Joe Root missed his another half-century in the Test format. He was dismissed on 42 runs.
