The ICC has brought back the iconic white jacket for the much-anticipated Champions Trophy 2025. The unveiling was done by none other than Pakistan’s legendary pacer, Wasim Akram, in a special video released by the International Cricket Council across their social media platforms on Tuesday.
With the caption, “The iconic white jacket is back! #ChampionsTrophy,” the video has already generated plenty of buzz among cricket fans. The visuals show a skilled tailor meticulously stitching the elegant jacket, with the words “Champions Trophy 2025 Pakistan” embroidered in shimmering golden thread on the front pocket.
In the video, Wasim Akram reflects on the qualities that define a true champion. He highlights traits like resilience, determination, and the ability to rise above challenges as key to success in the sporting world.
The video also features appearances from cricketing superstars like Babar Azam, Mohammad Amir, Rohit Sharma, Shaheen Afridi, Mohammad Rizwan, Jos Buttler, and Glenn Maxwell. Their passion and dedication for the game shine through as they showcase their skills on the field.

The video doesn’t just focus on the upcoming tournament. It also includes archival footage that pays tribute to cricket’s rich history and legacy. Fans were treated to nostalgic clips, evoking pride and excitement ahead of the ninth edition of the Champions Trophy.
“The ICC Men’s Champions Trophy represents the best of the best,” Akram said in a media release. “The unveiling of the white jacket, which symbolizes greatness, will now build excitement for the event across the global cricket community.”
The ICC Champions Trophy 2025 will kick off on February 19, with host and defending champions Pakistan taking on New Zealand in the curtain-raiser at Karachi’s National Bank Stadium.
The tournament will feature eight teams playing 15 matches over 19 days across Pakistan and Dubai. In Pakistan, the matches will be held at three venues: Rawalpindi, Lahore, and Karachi. Lahore will host the second semi-final and the final on March 9. However, if India makes it to the final, the match will be played in Dubai.
Both semi-finals and the final will have reserve days to account for any weather disruptions.
Given the tense political relations between India and Pakistan, the three group matches involving India will be played in Dubai. The first semi-final will also take place in Dubai, ensuring a neutral venue for high-stakes games.
