Rajasthan Royals (RR) pacers Jofra Archer and Kwena Maphaka took a break from their IPL 2025 campaign to visit the iconic Kaziranga National Park in Assam. The Rajasthan-based franchise shared a video on social media, offering fans a glimpse of their wildlife adventure.
Kaziranga National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is renowned for its population of the Great Indian one-horned rhinoceros. RR has been based in Assam for their IPL 2025 matches against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK), played at their adopted home ground in Guwahati.
After a hard-fought six-run victory over CSK, Archer and Maphaka took the opportunity to explore the famous wildlife sanctuary. Sharing the experience on Instagram, RR captioned the post:
“So, we took Jof and Kwena to Kaziranga National Park… .”
Jofra Archer made his return to Rajasthan Royals this season after being bought for ₹12.50 crore at the IPL 2025 auction. However, his performances have been a mixed bag.
Archer had a nightmare start to the tournament, registering the most expensive figures in IPL history—76 runs in four overs—against SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH). He struggled again in the second game against KKR, conceding 33 runs in just 2.3 overs.
However, the England pacer made a strong comeback against CSK, bowling the first maiden over of IPL 2025 and dismissing Rachin Ravindra. He finished with impressive figures of 3-1-13-1, playing a crucial role in RR’s successful defense of a 183-run target.
Meanwhile, 18-year-old South African fast bowler Kwena Maphaka, who was signed for ₹1.50 crore, has yet to make his debut this season. The youngster, who shone in the U19 World Cup, is seen as a future star and could get an opportunity in the upcoming games.
With just one win from their first three matches, Rajasthan Royals currently sit ninth in the IPL 2025 points table. They will next face Punjab Kings (PBKS) at Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium, Mullanpur, on April 5.
RR fans will be hoping that Archer continues his resurgence and that Maphaka soon gets a chance to showcase his talent on the IPL stage.
