The ICC has announced its Men’s Test Team of the Year for 2024, and Indian stars Jasprit Bumrah and Yashasvi Jaiswal have made the cut. Bumrah’s exceptional bowling and Jaiswal’s remarkable batting performances stood out in a year filled with memorable cricketing moments.
Bumrah dominated the bowling charts with 71 wickets in 13 matches, while Jaiswal amassed 1,478 runs in 15 matches, solidifying their places in the prestigious XI.

Jasprit Bumrah was a force to reckon with in 2024. The Indian pacer took 71 wickets in 2024. He was the year’s highest wicket-taker. His bowling average of 14.92 was the best among bowlers with over 200 wickets.
Bumrah’s standout performance came during the five-match Test series against Australia. He scalped 32 wickets in nine innings. This included a match-winning spell of 5/30 in Perth, where he also captained India to a memorable 295-run victory.
Yashasvi Jaiswal continued to impress as India’s premier Test opener. The young left-hander was India’s top scorer in 2024, with 1,478 runs at an average of 54.74.
Jaiswal’s highlight was the five-match home series against England, where he scored 712 runs, including two double centuries. He also excelled in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy against Australia, scoring a magnificent 161 in Perth.
The ICC has named Pat Cummins as the captain of the team. He recently led Australia to a 3-1 win over India. Cummins ended the year with 37 Test wickets to his name.
