Cricket is a great equaliser. Starc was at the top of his mark against the Rajasthan Royals in the previous match. He was crucial in registering a win for his team. However, it was the opposite today as GT batters took on Starc and decided to win the match.

Buttler smashes 5 fours off Starc

GT were chasing DC’s target of 204 in 20 overs. They were cruising at one point, with Buttler and Sherfane Rutherford looking comfortable and in control of the game.

Axar Patel, the DC captain, decided to use Mitchell Starc in the 14th over to spark things up. The partnership was already in its 7th over and was looking like taking away the game for the hosts. Starc was brought in to break the partnership and provide DC with a breakthrough.

However, what conspired was really different. Jos Buttler hit Starc for 5 consecutive boundaries. Starc bowled with a plan against Buttler. He tried to keep the ball away from the reach of the England captain by bowling wide yorkers. However, Buttler showed again and again why he is one of the best white-ball batters.

The batter creamed the ball towards the offside. He played a magnificent cover drive, followed by two shots in the point region. Stark also tried to switch things up at last and bowled a short-pitch delivery. Buttler played a scratchy pull against it. But a fumble by fielder Vipraj Nigam meant another boundary for Buttler.

Tewatia wins the match

In the last over, GT needed 10 runs to win the match. Starc was brought again. It was Rahul Tewatia’s chance to show his talent. The batter did not take much time to win the match for his team. On the first ball, he hit Starc for a massive six over deep midwicket.

The next ball went for a boundary as Tewatia flicked Starc towards fine leg. The GT batter ended the run chase with 4 balls to spare and 7 wickets in hand. Starc, on the other hand, had a day to forget. The bowler went for 49 runs in 3.2 overs, without taking any wickets. His economy rate was 14.7
