Mohammed Siraj is proving to be lethal with the new ball this season. After wreaking havoc against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the last game, he has broken the back of SRH.
Mohammed Siraj gave his best-ever T20 performance at his home ground. It is an emotional moment for the 31-year-old. He produced a sensational spell of fast bowling against SRH to restrict them to a sub-par total of 152. His figures read 4 for 17. He was both lethal and economical with the ball, giving his team an edge in the match.
Siraj was stellar with the ball from the first over. Bowling the first over of the match, he was hit for a couple of boundaries by Travis Head. However, Siraj took his revenge against the Australian opener and got his wicket in the same over. It was a big breakthrough, as Head can be a headache for the bowlers.
Next, he dismissed the other opener, Abhishek Sharma. Siraj bowled a length ball around middle and leg, as Abhishek tried to loft it towards mid-on. However, the ball was miscued and landed in the hands of Rahul Tewatia. It was an easy catch for the fielder.
Siraj proved that he can be as effective with the old ball as the new. After a fiery spell up at the top of the inning, he came to bowl the 19th over. He gave away only 3 runs and picked 2 wickets to completely eliminate any chance of an SRH revival. He kept it straight in his final over.
Siraj dismissed Aniket Verma LBW. SRH used a review against it, but the decision was upheld. On the last ball of his spell, he bowled Simarjeet Singh with a late inswinger. He showcased his reverse swing skills, and it was too tough for the tailender.
Gujarat Titans have defeated the Sunrisers Hyderabad. SRH were reduced to 152 in their 20 overs. GT were able to chase this down with 7 wickets in hand and 20 balls to spare. This is SRH’s fourth straight loss.
