SRH owner Kavya Maran gets furious after Abhishek Sharma throws away his wicket

The Sunrisers Hyderabad are going through a lean patch in IPL 2025. They lost their fourth match on the trot. Owner Kavya Maran was seen getting furious at batsman Abhishek Sharma for giving his wicket away early in the inning.

Abhishek Sharma gifts his wicket

SRH opener Abhishek Sharma has not been in form this season. He has struggled to get going and has not been able to score big even once in the four matches played so far. In the match against the Gujarat Titans, he looked to be in better touch. Sharma had struck four boundaries already. However, he got carried away and gifted his wicket to the local boy, Mohammed Siraj.

Siraj dismisses Sharma

On the fourth ball of the fifth over, Sharma tried to play a lofted shot to mid-on. However, Siraj had bowled a good length delivery. The ball was not timed properly, and it went up. Rahul Tewatia, stationed at mid-on, took the catch comfortably. Sharma was dismissed for 18 runs off 16 balls.

Kavya Maran seen fuming

SRH owner Kavya Maran lost her calm after Abhishek Sharma gave his wicket to Siraj. She was visibly frustrated and was seen making animated gestures. She was clearly angry at the shot selection of the young batter. The video clip of Maran has been shared extensively on social media.

Siraj destroys SRH’s batting lineup

Siraj was stellar with the ball from the first over. Bowling the first over of the match, he was hit for a couple of boundaries by Travis Head. However, Siraj took his revenge against the Australian opener and got his wicket in the same over. It was a big breakthrough, as Head can be a headache for the bowlers.

He went on to dismiss Abhishek Sharma, Aniket Verma and Simarjeet Singh.

SRH lose again

Gujarat Titans have defeated the Sunrisers Hyderabad. SRH were reduced to 152 in their 20 overs. GT were able to chase this down with 7 wickets in hand and 20 balls to spare. This is SRH’s fourth straight loss.
