Ravisrinivasan Sai Kishore continues to prove his mettle in IPL 2025, playing a crucial role in Gujarat Titans’ (GT) recent victory against Sunrisers Hyderabad. The 28-year-old left-arm orthodox spinner delivered an impressive spell of 4-0-24-2 at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad, picking up key wickets and restricting the opposition’s run flow.
Kishore struck first by removing Nitish Kumar Reddy, who had been showing promise in the middle order. He then dismissed Heinrich Klaasen, one of SRH’s most dangerous finishers, to put further pressure on the hosts. His economical spell at an impressive rate of 6.00 per over choked the momentum SRH needed to chase their target.
While Mohammed Siraj, who bagged the Player of the Match award, maintained tight lines from one end, Kishore kept the batters guessing with his variations and clever flight. His performance played a pivotal role in ensuring GT maintained the upper hand throughout the middle overs.
Following the game, Sai Kishore opened up about his emotional journey and deep connection with cricket in a post-match video shared by IPL. The Tamil Nadu cricketer revealed how the sport shaped him both professionally and personally.
“I think cricket teaches you so many things. To even get a chance to represent a team, to make a name for myself – it has shaped me as a person and a cricketer,” Kishore said. “The same fire still burns in me. Cricket is the most important thing in my life. It’s what I’ve dedicated everything to.”
He also reflected on the lonely yet determined hours of practice that led him here. “It feels good to see those 4 AM sessions and long days of training finally paying off. This is just the beginning. We want to win more games for GT—and lift the trophy this year.”
Kishore praised the camaraderie within the GT squad, emphasizing the team’s unity and shared vision.
“As a team, we’re playing a wonderful brand of cricket. We gel together, we celebrate each other’s success, and that’s what makes this group special,” he added. “This is a great space to be part of. There’s a lot more success to come.”
Also featured in the post-match video was Washington Sundar, Kishore’s teammate from both Tamil Nadu and GT. Sundar, who contributed with the bat, acknowledged the importance of preparation and support from teammates.
“I truly believe in the preparation I’ve done over the last few weeks,” said Sundar. “I always stay ready for opportunities. And thank you, Sai, for always cheering me on from the other end.”
With this win, Gujarat Titans continue their impressive run in IPL 2025. Kishore’s form adds a significant boost to their bowling unit, and with players like Sundar stepping up, the franchise looks set to challenge for the title once again.
As IPL 2025 progresses, fans can expect more fiery performances from this spirited squad led by players who wear their hearts on their sleeves.
