Pat Cummins conceded loss against GT, Says GT’s fast bowling was tough to play

The Sunrisers Hyderabad lost their fourth consecutive match of the season. After winning their first match by scoring a mammoth 286 against the Rajasthan Royals, they have nosedived. They lost to GT by 7 wickets with 20 balls to spare.

Cummins admits Siraj’s brilliance

SRH captain Pat Cummins admitted to the brilliance of the Gujarat Titans’ fast bowlers, especially Mohammed Siraj. In the post-match presentation, Cummins said that their batsmen found it tough to play against the pace bowling of GT. “Was a bit skinny, but the Hyderabad wicket is a bit tough. A few early wickets and you are in the game. It didn’t spin much, there was a little dew around, but they batted really well. Their pace bowling was tough to play against today,” Cummins said.

Siraj gives his best in Hyderabad

Mohammed Siraj gave his best-ever T20 performance at his home ground. It is an emotional moment for the 31-year-old. He produced a sensational spell of fast bowling against SRH to restrict them to a sub-par total of 152. His figures read 4 for 17. He was both lethal and economical with the ball, giving his team an edge in the match.

Siraj destroys SRH’s batting lineup

Siraj was stellar with the ball from the first over. Bowling the first over of the match, he was hit for a couple of boundaries by Travis Head. However, Siraj took his revenge against the Australian opener and got his wicket in the same over. It was a big breakthrough, as Head can be a headache for the bowlers.

Next, he dismissed the other opener, Abhishek Sharma. Siraj bowled a length ball around middle and leg, as Abhishek tried to loft it towards mid-on. However, the ball was miscued and landed in the hands of Rahul Tewatia. Siraj went on to take two more wickets in his final over. They included Aniket Verma and Simarjeet Singh.

Shubhman Gill leads GT to win

SRH scored 152/8. GT, in reply, chased the target with ease. Shubhman Gill’s knock of 61 and Washington Sundar’s 49 ensured that there was no new twist in the tale. GT won their third straight match, while SRH have lost four now.
