A funny yet unacceptable incident occurred during the start of the play between Chennai Super Kings and Lucknow Super Giants. The start of the match was delayed as a dog arrived on the cricket field stopping the play.
CSK captain MS Dhoni and former captain Ravindra Jadeja were grinning as they observed the scene at the Chepauk after the dog interrupted Chennai’s first home IPL game since 2019.
As the pitch invader made headlines for disrupting the thrilling play between Chennai and Lucknow at Chepauk, the former Indian captain Sunil Gavaskar launched a diatribe on television as a result of the brief holdup in the IPL 2023 match.
Gavaskar was unhappy
“This is just not acceptable… this delay. I mean, whoever has let this dog in, it’s not on. Chasing it is not going to help,” Gavaskar declared on-air as up to six members of the ground staff were occupied chasing the dog at Chepauk.
Speaking of the game, LSG captain KL Rahul chose to bowl against Chennai in their first away game of the new season after winning the toss. In-form opener Ruturaj Gaikwad gave CSK a strong start at home and built the groundwork for a difficult total in Chepauk. He and Devon Conway scored a partnership of 100 and have led a strong foundation for the team.
In the IPL 2023 curtain-raiser against Chennai and Gujarat, superstar Gaikwad hit an exquisite knock of 92 off 50 balls. At Chepauk, four-time champions CSK are aiming for their first victory of the year. After losing to the reigning champion Gujarat Titans in the IPL 2023 opening, the former champion Chennai Super Kings landed at their Chepauk den (GT). At the Narendra Modi Stadium on Friday, the GT team led CSK by five wickets. Hardik Pandya’s team was superior.
