Shaik Rasheed impresses on IPL debut, Gives CSK a fiery start in the chase against LSG

The Chennai Super Kings are playing against the Lucknow Super Giants at the Ekana Stadium in Lucknow. The Super Kings are desperate for a win in the tournament and have brought on Shaik Rasheed to replace Devon Conway.

Shaik Rasheed makes debut

Young talent Shaik Rasheed made his debut in IPL against the Lucknow Super Giants. The batter came in to replace long-time CSK batter Devon Conway. The Kiwi was dropped from the playing XI after his mediocre run of form. He wasn’t able to provide his team with the explosive start needed.

Shaik Rasheed was brought in the team with the expectation of giving CSK a quick start. The young batter from Andhra Pradesh ensured that his team wasn’t disappointed.

Rasheed slams 6 boundaries

Rasheed ensured that he didn’t waste any time to get going. He scored a single on the second ball to open his account. He took on Indian bowlers to score a string of boundaries. He struck 3 boundaries against Akash Deep and 2 boundaries against Shardul Thakur. He also went on to hit spin sensation Digvesh Rathi for a boundary.

Dismissed by Avesh Khan

The batter from Guntur was eventually dismissed by fast bowler Avesh Khan. Avesh bowled a slower one to Rasheed. The batter tried to pull the ball away but could only miscue it for Nicholas Pooran to catch at midwicket.

An inspiring story

The story of Shaik Rasheed has been an inspiring one. The young batter was the vice captain of India Under-19 side for the 2022 World Cup in West Indies. He even scored a scintillating 94 in the semi-final against Australia to mark his name around.

His childhood was full of struggles. Rasheed’s father had to lose two jobs to allow him to practice cricket. They used to travel 40 km for Rasheed to train with the state and district coaches.
