Yuzvendra Chahal Predicts Top-Two Finish for Punjab Kings in IPL 2025

Yuzvendra Chahal, one of the most successful bowlers in IPL history, confidently predicted that Punjab Kings will finish in the top two of IPL 2025. The veteran leg-spinner backed Shreyas Iyer’s leadership and praised the team’s depth in both batting and bowling.

Chahal dismisses slow start and embraces team-first mindset

Despite taking only one wicket in the first three matches, Chahal remains focused on team success. “The team has won two matches, and that’s what matters. My goal is to help Punjab Kings win the title,” he said. Chahal stated that he doesn’t worry about personal performance as long as the team continues winning.

He further added, “If we win the trophy and I don’t take a single wicket, I’ll take that every day. The tournament is long, and I’m finding my rhythm. I’m enjoying my bowling.”

Chahal confident in PBKS squad balance

Chahal praised the squad’s balance and highlighted the depth across all departments. “We have 7–8 bowling options and 9–10 batting options. That makes us the most complete team,” he said. He confidently predicted a top-two finish and claimed the team could win its maiden IPL title this season.

“We are coming in the top two. We are the best team,” he stated boldly during the JioHotstar Press Room session.

Spinner unfazed by home pitch talks

While other franchises have complained about lack of home advantage, Chahal dismissed those concerns. “ Weenjoyed our first home game in Mullanpur. We are not worried about what others are saying. We are focusing on adapting to each ground,” he said.

He explained that players know how to adjust and prepare mentally. “I bowl according to the situation. Experience teaches you how to read conditions,” Chahal explained.

National team recall not a priority

Chahal, who last played for India in 2023, downplayed talks of a national comeback. “I’m not thinking about that right now. My focus is on the IPL and helping my team. If a call-up comes, it will come. Right now, I’m just enjoying my cricket,” he said.

With this mindset and confidence, Yuzvendra Chahal has set his sights on leading Punjab Kings to a historic IPL campaign in 2025.
