The Controversy

The team went on a terrible run under Jadeja last year, culminating in them crashing out of contention for the knockout stages for just the second time in their IPL history, just two days before the start of the season. The first was that the captaincy was taken away from him and the second was that he was not being able to perform at his best. Usually, one of Chennai Super Kings‘s most potent players with bat, ball, and in the field, Jadeja scored 116 runs at an average of 19 and claimed five wickets at an economy rate of 7.52. The captaincy may have ended up being a burden for him and impacted his performance, according to Cricbuzz. Jadeja stayed back after India’s third and final ODI against Australia and joined the CSK camp.
