Match delayed as a stray dog enters the Chepauk Stadium, players reaction surprising

Chennai Super Kings and Lucknow Super Giants faced off in a much-anticipated match at the iconic MA Chidambaram Stadium. The toss was won by Lucknow’s skipper, KL Rahul, who decided to bowl first. The atmosphere was electric, with the crowd eager to witness some thrilling cricket action. However, the match’s start was not what anyone expected.

Dog enters ground

The game was halted by an unfortunate yet hilarious incident when a stray dog ran onto the field during the pre-match warm-up. The players and umpires tried to shoo the dog away, but it refused to budge. The commentators and the crowd were left amused as the dog ran around the field, chasing after the ball and players.

Despite the efforts of six ground staff members, the umpires and several players had to join the mission to try to usher the dog off the field. However, the dog seemed to be enjoying the attention and was being extremely stubborn. As the scene unfolded, the fans on the ground didn’t seem to mind at all. In fact, they were cheering the dog on wholeheartedly, adding to the already boisterous atmosphere.

MS Dhoni had a smile on his face watching the drama unfold. His teammates, Ravindra Jadeja, and Moeen Ali, were also amused by the situation. Meanwhile, the crowd had started chanting, “Doggy! Doggy! Doggy!” The stray dog’s brief appearance was a refreshing change of pace and brought some light-hearted moments to the game. 

After a brief delay, the dog was finally escorted out of the field, and the match began with both teams raring to go. While the IPL returned to Chepauk after a gap of two years, the dog’s antics added some unexpected excitement to the already thrilling match.
