An open-top bus parade after India’s ICC Trophy win is one of attractions the fans look forward to. Last year after winning the T20 World Cup 2024, Mumbai saw a massive crowd cheering for the team after a ceremony at the Wankhede Stadium. No wonder, fans are expecting a similar magical evening to witness after India’s recent Champions Trophy win. However, reportedly there is no chance of any such parade due to time crunch.

No parade in Mumbai

Rohit Sharma-led Indian cricket team won the Champions Trophy 2025 after 12 years. They beat New Zealand in a nail-biting final in Dubai to finish off as the champions. Reportedly, the players will leave separately from Dubai for their destinations which ruled out the possibility of an open-top bus parade in Mumbai. Indian Premier League is scheduled to begin on March 22 and the last leg of the Women’s Premier League 2025 is starting today at Brabourne Stadium, Mumbai. So, there is no chance of a bus parade in such short time.

Last year after India’s T20 World Cup win, Rohit Sharma-led team was facilitated by the BCCI at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai. After that the players along with head coach Rahul Dravid and other coaching staff went for an open-bus parade amidst the cheer of a huge crowd. This has been a tradition for Indian cricket team after an ICC trophy win. However, this time it is not going to happen as the players will also go for a short break before the IPL starts.

Undefeated India’s successful run in CT

India, in their way to winning the Champions Trophy remained unbeaten throughout the tournament, they beat Bangladesh, Pakistan, and New Zealand in their group stage matches. Then they defeated Australia in the semi-final and New Zealand in the final on March 9 by four wickets.
