Mayank Yadav has joined the LSG camp on Tuesday night for the remainder of the IPL 2025. He is set to undergo some fitness tests to determine his match fitness ahead of LSG’s match against RR in the weekend.

Mayank joins LSG

Lucknow Super Giants will be taking on Rajasthan Royals in Jaipur soon. Ahead of the match, Mayank’s inclusion to the camp is a boost for the side.

Mayank Yadav was out of action for six months as he was completing rehabilitation at the National Cricket Academy. He featured last in the T20I against Bangladesh in Hyderabad. He sustained a back injury during the same.

After the back injury, Mayank suffered from a toe injury during his time at the Centre of Excellence in Bangalore. After his long rehabilitation programme, he finally got clearance from the BCCI medical team at the CoE.

Now the LSG head physio, Ashish Kaushik will further assess him. A green signal from him will make Mayank eligible to play against Rajasthan as per a Times of India report.

Mayank gives major boost to LSG

Although Mayank’s participation will be a major help, LSG will be cautious with him due to the injuries he sustained. Mayank suffered from five stress fractures in just two years. LSG therefore will not risk making him bowl a long spell in a high-intensity game initially.

Even in IPL 2024, Mayank played just fur matches and then left the tournament for a side strain. He returned to action after six months, made international debut in Gwalior, players three game, and was ruled out again.

Lucknow have been dealing with injury woos since in the beginning of IPL 2025. Mohsin Khan was ruled out of the tournament as Shardul Thakur replaced him.

Thakur has been pretty expensive despite taking important wickets. With four wins in seven matches, LSG are standing in the fifth place with a Net Run Rate of 0.08.
