The evergreen MS Dhoni will create history as he steps onto the field for today’s clash against the Rajasthan Royals. He will be captaining in the Indian Premier League for the 200th time for Chennai Super Kings. The CSK skipper will look to end the 200th match with a win under his name. Dhoni will captain the team in 200 games, making him the only player of his kind to do so in the tournament’s history.
CSK lost to the defending champion Gujarat Titans by five wickets in the first game of the 2023 IPL. But, Dhoni and company recovered with back-to-back victories over the Mumbai Indians and Lucknow Super Giants.
The four-time champions have experienced some injury concerns. The notable of them was England’s all-rounder Ben Stokes and his fellow countryman Moeen Ali missed the most recent match against Mumbai while pacer Deepak Chahar suffered a hamstring injury in the first over and was unable to continue bowling.
The Chennai Super Kings have returned to form with two victories after a wobble against the Gujarat Titans. The primary cause of it is the open-playing style of MS Dhoni, Devon Conway, and other openers. Nonetheless, a significant worry has been CSK’s bowling. Yashasvi Jaiswal, Jos Buttler, Sanju Samson, and Shimron Hetmyer make up the potent batting line-up for the Rajasthan Royals, and they will all try to take advantage of it. The Chepauk crowd and the weather, though, will be RR’s toughest opponents.
