Phil Salt, known for his aggressive batting, is showcasing his skills in IPL 2025. The RCB opener hit a 105m six, reminding people of RCB greats like Chris Gayle and AB de Villiers.
Mohammed Siraj was bowling fire in his first spell as he dismissed Devdutt Padikkal. The Gujarat Titans pacer was swinging the ball around, making life tough for the RCB batters. However, Salt took on Siraj with no fear. Siraj bowled a short of length delivery to the RCB opener. But Salt dealt it with ruthlessness. He slogged the delivery towards midwicket and sent the ball out of the stadium. The ball travelled 105 metres.
Mohammed Siraj, however, did not back down. He bowled a fuller delivery at 144 kmph and sent Salt’s stumps rolling. Salt couldn’t bring his bat down in time as he was beaten for pace. The ball smashed the off and middle stumps.
In the ongoing match against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru, Siraj has completely destroyed the batting lineup of his former team. He was impressive with the new ball as he swung it around. He bowled Devdutt Paddikal to start the proceedings. Next up, he dismissed the dangerous Phil Salt to bring the RCB side to panic mode.
RCB tried to regroup and make a comeback in the match. Liam Livingstone and Jitesh Sharma stitched a crucial partnership. Livingstone went on to score a half-century. However, Siraj came back again in the death overs. This time, he dismissed the set batsman Liam Livingstone to give his team an edge. Livingstone, an attacking player, could have wreaked havoc at the end of the inning. He was dismissed for 54 runs. He was caught behind by Jos Buttler.
Despite RCB’s efforts to rebuild the inning, they could only score 169 runs. Chasing a target of 170 at the Chinnaswamy stadium was not expected to be too difficult for GT. As it turned out, it wasn’t. They chased down the target with ease. GT defeated RCB by 8 wickets in under 18 overs. RCB have now lost their first match of the season.
