However, India’s emerging pace sensation, Mohammed Siraj, emerged triumphant, securing his maiden honour in the coveted category.

Expressing his elation, Siraj remarked, “I have been waiting to get my hands on this medal since the start of the World Cup, and finally, it has come my way. The lesson I have learned during this journey is that one should never give up.” The fielding coach presented the medal to Siraj, marking the initiation of a new tradition within the Indian cricket setup.

The introduction of the “Impact Fielder of the Series” award coincided with India’s remarkable comeback in the T20I series against South Africa. After facing defeat in the second T20I in Gqeberha, the team displayed exceptional grit, securing a convincing 106-run win in Johannesburg to level the series. Injury Concerns for Skipper Yadav

While the victory was a cause for celebration, concerns arose as skipper Suryakumar Yadav suffered an ankle injury during South Africa’s innings. Despite his outstanding performance with the bat, Yadav had to be assisted off the field by the team physio and did not return to play. Vice-captain Ravindra Jadeja took charge in Yadav’s absence, leading the team to a resounding triumph.
