Yusuf appreciates Vaibhav for a special record-breaking feat

Vaibhav Suryavanshi broke a 15-year-old record of Yusuf Pathan after securing his first IPL hundred. His historic innings impressed one and all and helped Rajasthan Royals come out of the losing streak eventually. Yusuf took to the social and appreciated RR’s magical efforts for youngsters.

Yusuf applauds new sensation

The 14-year-old sensation from Samastipur, Bihar smashed his first IPL hundred in just 35 balls. Chasing 210, his innings that included 11 sixes and seven boundaries stole the show. He recorded the fastest IPL century by an Indian and in the process surpassed Yusuf Pathan. Yusuf had achieved the feat in 37 balls while playing for RR against Mumbai Indians. Vaibhav is only behind Chris Gayle in this list, thanks to Gayle’s 30-ball hundred against Pune Warriors in 2013.

Vaibhav Suryavanshi, at the age of 14 years 32 days, also surpassed his teammate Riyan Parag and became the youngest cricketer to score an IPL fifty. He also became the youngest cricketer to score an IPL century surpassing Manish Pandey who had done this in 2019.

Taking to social media, Yusuf Pathan wrote, “Many congratulations to young #VaibhavSuryavanshi for breaking my record of the fastest @IPL hundred by an Indian! Even more special to see it happen while playing for @rajasthanroyals , just like I did. There’s truly something magical about this franchise for youngsters. Long way to go, champ!”.

Vaibhav on his approach to batting

The new batting sensation spoke about his preparations for the match after getting his first ever Player of the Match award in IPL. “There is no fear. I don’t think much, I just focus on playing.” He added,” I just see the ball and play.

Vaibhav cried after being dismissed in his first IPL match. His shots made significant impact on all from his debut that he started with a maximum. However, the record-breaking century announced his arrival to the world cricket. Smashing a hundred at such a stage in a tender age is huge. Speaking of the same, he said, “It is like a dream, to score a century in the IPL.”
