Ashutosh Sharma, DC’s gun batter, has left the field after colliding with teammate Mukesh Kumar. In an unfortunate event, both players collided while attempting a catch.

Ashutosh and Mukesh collide

On the second delivery of the 19th over, an unfortunate incident took place. DC are playing against the Mumbai Indians at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. Mohit Sharma bowled a slower delivery to MI batter Tilak Verma in the 19th over.

The ball was outside off, and Verma tried to slice it towards short third man. Two fielders stationed in the region- Ashutosh Sharma & Mukesh Kumar- attempted the catch. The fielders couldn’t communicate properly as both of them tried to get hold of the ball. In the process, they couldn’t sense each other.

Physio attends to Ashutosh & Mukesh

Ashutosh and Mukesh collided in a disastrous turn of events. The physio had to be immediately called to attend to the two players. They were checked thoroughly. Ashutosh Sharma was taken off the field by the physio. DC would hope the batter doesn’t suffer from anything serious. He would be needed in the upcoming chase against MI.

Meanwhile, Mukesh Kumar seemed not to have been badly affected by the collision. He remained on the field. In fact, he even came on to bowl the next and final over of the inning.

MI score 205/5

Meanwhile, the Mumbai Indians posted a strong total against the Delhi Capitals. Batting first at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi, they have posted 205/5 in 20 overs. This is the first game of the season in Delhi. MI opener Ryan Rickelton scored 41 to give MI a fiery start.

Rohit Sharma failed again as he was dismissed by Vipraj Nigam for 18 off 12 balls. The Indian captain hit 2 fours and 1 six. Surya Kumar scored an impressive 40 off 28 balls. Tilak Verma was the star of the inning as he scored 59 off just 33 balls. At the end, Naman Dhir played a cameo of 38 off 17 balls to take MI past 200.
