Jasprit Bumrah is all set to achieve yet another milestone when he will play for Mumbai in IPL 2025. He is on the verge of surpassing Lasith Malinga, the all-time Mumbai Indians legend. Bumrah is ready to become the first bowler for Mumbai to scalp 200 wickets.

Bumrah ready for double milestones

MI kept their core intact ahead of the IPL 2025 and no wonder Bumrah remained one of their retentions. Mumbai retained Bumrah, Rohit Sharma, Suryakumar Yadav, Tilak Varma, and captain Hardik. So, Bumrah will take on field in IPL 2025 for Mumbai Indians once again under Hardik Pandya’s leadership.

Jasprit Bumrah has been a mainstay for Mumbai Indians in 2013 and since then he has been a sensation for MI and Indian cricket. With a salary of Rs 18 crore, Bumrah is one of the key players Mumbai depend on. With 165 wickets, Bumrah is current Mumbai’s second-highest wicket-taker. However, he is ready to overtake Lasith Malinga who has 170 wickets to his name for Mumbai. Bumrah is just six wickets aways to achieve the huge milestone. Moreover, he can also become the first bowler to claim 200 wickets for Mumbai Indians.

Bumrah, a MI mainstay since IPL debut

India superstar Jasprit Bumrah made his IPL debut in 2013 for Mumbai. They re-signed him in IPL 2014 mega-auction. Thanks to his showcases as MI player Bumrah soon debuted for India in 2016. Since then has been a regular member for Mumbai Indians. They retained him before the IPL 2018, 2022, and 2025 mega-auctions. With Bumrah, Mumbai always were certain about the pick.

While Indian team and most of the cricketers have not had a good BGT, Bumrah had a good show in Australia. He also led Indian cricket team in three matches out of which India won two and lost one.

Meanwhile, Mumbai Indians confirmed that Hardik Pandya would continue to lead the side in IPL 2025. Interestingly Both Rohit and Suryakumar Yadav will play under Hardik Pandya in the Indian Premier League. Rohit Sharma leads India in Test and ODI cricket whereas Surkumar is India’s current T20I captain.
