Corbin Bosch, the South-African all-rounder has been handed over one-year ban from PSL after he pulled out of the tournament and joined IPL. The Pakistan Cricket Board cited breaching his contractual obligations with the PSL franchise in their release.
Bosch pulled out of this year’s Pakistan Super League to join Mumbai Indians in the ongoing Indian Premier League. As a result, on Thursday, the PCB confirmed his one-year suspension from PSL. Bosch was picked by Peshawar Zalmi in January’s draft for the 2025 season of PSL. However, he eventually preferred to join Mumbai Indians in IPL replacing South Africa’s Lizaad Williams.
His fellow Proteas, Willaims was ruled out of the tournament following injury. Since IPL and PSL dates are clashing this year, Bosch chose to pull of out PSL to join IPL.
The PCB therefore took disciplinary action against him. In a statement, the PCB said, “The all-rounder will serve a one-year ban and will not be eligible for selection in next year’s Pakistan Super League.” The board also served Bosch with a legal notice earlier.
Meanwhile, South African all-rounder, Bosch who takes part in different cricket leagues across the globe issues a public apology following the ban. Bosch said, “I deeply regret my decision … and offer my sincere apologies to the people of Pakistan, the fans of Peshawar Zalmi and the wider cricket community.”
He also added, “I fully understand the disappointment caused by my actions … but I am committed to learning from this experience and hope to return to the PSL in the future with renewed dedication and the trust of the fans.”
