England has announced its 12-member squad for the second T20I against India. The second T20I is scheduled for January 24 at the MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai. The team has made key changes after their seven-wicket defeat in the first match in Kolkata. Brydon Carse has replaced Gus Atkinson. On the other hand, Jamie Smith joins as a backup for Jacob Bethell. Bethell may miss out on the second T20I due to illness.
The opening T20I at Eden Gardens saw England struggle with both bat and ball. Batting first, the visitors managed just 132 runs. India chased the target with ease, securing victory with 43 balls to spare. Apart from Jos Buttler, none of the English batters managed to put up a significant contribution.

England’s lineup for the second game sees a mix of experience and fresh faces. Here’s the announced playing XI:
Brydon Carse brings extra firepower to the pace attack. Jamie Smith’s inclusion adds flexibility in case Jacob Bethell is unavailable.

Their second game in Chennai was played in 2018. It ended in a thrilling win against West Indies. India chased a target of 182 runs with one ball to spare. Shikhar Dhawan and Rishabh Pant starred with scores of 92 and 58, respectively.
