“I also believe in Siraj Bhai….”, Nitish Kumar Reddy Mimics Jassi Bhai Meme to Thank Mohammed Siraj After Maiden Test Ton

Nitish Kumar Reddy shared a funny yet heartfelt post for Indian pacer Mohammed Siraj after the end of Day 3 of the Boxing Day Test at the MCG.

Nitish Kumar Reddy had a day he’ll never forget at the MCG, smashing his first Test century during Day 3 of the Boxing Day Test. At just 21, he joined legends like Sachin Tendulkar and Rishabh Pant as one of the youngest Indians to achieve this milestone in Australia. But what happened after the century made the moment even more special.

Siraj’s Grit Makes Nitish Kumar Reddy’s Dream Come True

The journey to 100 wasn’t smooth sailing. After quick dismissals of Washington Sundar and Jasprit Bumrah, Reddy was stuck at 99, and all eyes turned to Mohammed Siraj. The task? Survive three fierce deliveries from Pat Cummins.

Cummins tested Siraj with a near-perfect first ball, followed by a sharp bouncer. Siraj ducked, keeping his cool under pressure. The final delivery was defended like a champ. The crowd roared, and Reddy clapped in relief from the non-striker’s end. Thanks to Siraj’s composure, Reddy finally reached his hundred in the next over, sealing a moment of history.

“I also believe in Siraj bhai”

After the day’s play, Reddy took to social media to post a heartwarming tribute to Siraj. Sharing a photo of them embracing, he wrote, “I also believe in Siraj Bhai.” It was a sweet twist on Siraj’s viral T20 World Cup line, “I only believe in Jassi Bhai,” which had fans buzzing online earlier this year. Siraj had said this to the broadcasters after India lifted the T20 World Cup earlier this year. Ever since then, this has become a social media quip and fans continue to use it any time Bumrah does well.

India wrapped up Day 3 at 358/9, still 116 runs behind Australia. While rain and bad light cut the day short, Reddy (105*) and Siraj (2*) held their ground.
