The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced the squad for the ODI series against Sri Lanka to be played in UAE. The 15-man squad is pretty much similar to the one that played in the ICC Champions Trophy earlier this year.
The fast bowler Wahab Riaz has been dropped and a new-comer Imam-ul-Haq has been included in the squad in place of the injured Azhar Ali. Imam is the nephew of former Pakistani captain and the current Chief Selector Inzamam-ul-Haq.
Pakistan are currently taking on Sri Lanka in the 2-Test series. Dinesh Chandimal and his men pulled off a stunning victory in the first Test in Abu Dhabi. Sarfaraz Ahmed & Co. failed to chase a paltry target of 136 while batting fourth and fell short by 21.
The veteran Sri Lankan spinner Rangana Herath bowled a magical spell and bagged 6 wickets for 43 runs and scripted a famous win for the country. Overall, he picked up 11 wickets in the match. The skipper Dinesh Chandimal too contributed big time by scoring a magnificent 155 in the first innings.
The 2nd Test between the two sides got underway on Friday in Dubai. It’s a day-night Test which is being played with the pink ball. After the completion of the Test series, the action will shift to the shorter format where 5 ODIs will be played. The long tour of the Lankans will end with the shortest format comprising of a series of 3 T20Is.
