Sunrisers Hyderabad might have just suffered a massive blow. Their premier pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar was seen in a lot of discomfort in the game against Chennai Super Kings. He had to leave the field midway through the over.
Bhuvneshwar was bowling the 19th over of the innings during Chennai Super Kings‘ chase. He had delivered the first ball of the over of which Sam Curran took a single. MS Dhoni came on strike as Bhuvneshwar ran in to bowl the second ball. However, just before releasing the ball, he pulled out. He had some discomfort in his left thigh.
The physio came out to have a check. Bhuvi was strapped on his thigh. Once again, he reloaded to bowl. But the pacer pulled out of the run-up twice. His injury seemed to have gotten worse with each attempt. At that stage, the game was in a thrilling situation with CSK needing 43 from 11 balls.
The 30-year-old desperately wanted to bowl considering the criticality of the situation. But it didn’t make much sense to risk more damage. So, he decided to give up and left the field. He was limping while walking back. An update is awaited on the extent of the injury.
Khaleel Ahmed stepped up to bowl the remaining 5 balls in which he conceded 15 runs. However, SRH just managed to halt the opposition 7 runs short of the target.
Oh noo.. He's still feeling uneasy and will be unable to continue. ☹️
