Rishabh Pant Picks His Favourite Shot in X Q&A

Rishabh Pant had fans buzzing with his fun Q&A session on X (formerly Twitter). From picking his favorite cricket shots to sharing thoughts on the Ashes 2025-26, the star wicketkeeper didn’t disappoint.

Pant on His Favorite Cricket Shots

Pant was asked to choose between three legendary cricket shots—Sachin Tendulkar’s straight drive, Virat Kohli’s cover drive, and Rohit Sharma’s pull shot. His answer? Pure gold.

“Sachin paaji’s straight drive, Virat bhai’s cover drive, and Rohit bhai’s pull shot. All 3,” he said, making sure no fan of the legends felt left out.

A Diplomatic Take on the Ashes

Former England skipper Michael Vaughan threw Pant a curveball, asking if England would win the upcoming Ashes. But Pant, being Pant, kept it neutral and classy.

“The team which will play better cricket will win. ,” he replied, dodging the question like a pro.

Rishabh Pant Gearing Up For Domestic Comeback

Pant last played for India in the 2024-25 Border-Gavaskar Trophy. Across nine innings, he racked up 255 runs at an average of 28.33. His best came in Sydney, where he smashed a quickfire 61 off 33 balls. Sadly, India lost the Test and the series, breaking a decade of dominance in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.

Pant might not be in India’s T20I squad for the England series, but he’s gearing up for a return. He’ll make his Ranji Trophy comeback with Delhi in their match against Saurashtra on January 23 in Rajkot.

Delhi & District Cricket Association secretary Ashok Sharma confirmed, “Pant will join the team in Rajkot for the crucial game. It’ll be his first Ranji match since 2017-18.”

India’s prepping for a white-ball series against England with five T20Is and three ODIs. Sanju Samson and Dhruv Jurel will handle wicket-keeping in T20Is, while Pant is expected to return for the ODIs. His form will be key as India builds momentum for the bigger tournaments ahead.
