Axar Patel, despite not being included in India’s 15-man World Cup 2023 squad, has refuted rumors of unhappiness with Team India and his fellow teammates. Earlier, Axar had expressed his displeasure on social media about not being selected for the World Cup.

Siraj meets Axar

Axar Patel recently met up with Indian pace spearhead Mohammed Siraj in Bengaluru ahead of India‘s match against the Netherlands in the World Cup. The two players seemed to be on good terms, and this meeting showcased that there was no ill will between Axar and his teammates or Indian management.

India has already qualified for the semifinals of the tournament, and they are awaiting the identity of their opponents for the upcoming match on November 15. While Axar Patel may be disappointed about not being selected, the replacement for Hardik Pandya, Ravichandran Ashwin, has only featured in one of India’s eight matches so far.

Axar Patel’s omission from the squad was likely frustrating for him, given that he had previously been on the sidelines in the last two editions of the ODI World Cup (2015 and 2019). The meeting with Mohammed Siraj and his positive attitude seems to reflect his professionalism and commitment to the team, despite the disappointment of not participating in the tournament.
