Before stepping into the Test series against Bangladesh, some of the Indian players are taking part in the Buchi Babu Tournament. After that, they will participate in the Duleep Trophy. But while facing TNCA XI, Suryakumar Yadav sustained a hand injury and didn’t bat later. Before the Duleep Trophy, that is a big setback.
Suryakumar Yadav’s Hand Injury:
After a long time, Team India is returning to the longest format. Before stepping into the Test series against Bangladesh, some of the Indian players are participating in the Buchi Babu Tournament. In the last group stage match of the tournament, Mumbai is facing TNCA XI. In this match, Suryakumar Yadav sustained a hand injury.
Surya joined the Mumbai team for their final group-stage match against TNCA XI. On the third day, while fielding at leg slip, he tried to stop a leg-stump delivery from Musheer Khan. The ball moved to his right. Surya reached out with both hands but missed the ball.
Despite his effort, the ball slipped through, and he grimaced in pain. The seemingly harmless contact left him hurt, prompting the Mumbai medical staff to attend to him. He received treatment but left the field shortly after and did not bat.
A Scare Before Duleep Trophy:
In the T20 cricket, Suryakumar Yadav is one of the best batters. This time, he expressed his eagerness to represent the country in a longer format. He played just one Test for India aiming for a Test comeback. He was named in the group C in the Duleep Trophy. If this injury becomes serious, his participation in the upcoming tournament is doubtful.
But this match ended for Mumbai in a disheartening way. They struggled into the entire match. Star players like Shreyas Iyer and Sarfaraz Khan were seen struggling with the bat. Their struggle continued even in their last innings. On the other hand, TNCA XI showcased their dominance. They proceed to the semifinal win with a huge 286-run win.
