Virat Kohli’s anger once again became talk of the town after Yash Dayal and Jitesh Sharma made a mess of a catch. Their collision dropped catch of Suryakumar Yadav that saw Kohli reacting in a frustrating way.
During the high-voltage match between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Mumbai Indians, Suryakumar Yadav got a lifeline. It was the second ball of the 12th over of the MI innings and Dayal delivered a slower delivery. Surya got an edge and the ball was up in the air.
Both Dayal and Jitesh Sharma went to get a hold of it but the missed it. Due to a collision between the two, they missed the catch and Surya got a lifeline. Virat Kohli saw it from close distance and threw his cap in frustration. He was visibly upset with the failed efforts.
No wonder the video went viral in no time. The netizens also pointed out how similar the reaction was to Rahul Dravid’s rare angry reaction on field back in 2014.
Dravis also threw his cap when his team lost to Mumbai Indians and got knocked out of the playoffs. The rare instance of Dravid getting frustrated is still fresh to the fans. They took no time in finding similarities between Dravid and Kohli’s reactions, therefore.
However, Yash Dayal got rid of Suryakumar Yadav on the last ball of the same over as Liam Livingstone grabbed an easy catch. Royal Challengers Bangalore eventually won the match and their new captain Rajat Patidar was named Player of the Match for his 32-ball 64 runs.
“That was a really amazing match. the way the bowlers have shown courage, it was amazing. To be honest, this award goes to the bowling unit because it is not easy to stop a batting unit on this ground, so the credit goes to them.
The way the fast bowlers executed their plans was great. The way Krunal has bowled is amazing. In the last over, it was not easy, I think the way he has bowled and the courage he has shown is amazing,” Patidar said in the post-match presentation.
