In a recent IPL match between Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), a controversial dismissal of Virat Kohli has sparked speculation and social media buzz. The incident occurred when Kohli was given out to a waist-high full toss by KKR pacer Harshit Rana. However, the umpires and the broadcaster ruled in favor of the dismissal, stating that Kohli was outside his crease, and the trajectory of the ball would have hit him below the waist had he not moved.
After the match, a video surfaced on KKR’s social media page showing a conversation between Rinku Singh and Kohli. In the video, Rinku informs Kohli that the bat he had gifted him during a previous match had broken while batting against a spinner. Kohli, seemingly annoyed, sarcastically thanks Rinku for letting him know.
“All Rinku wanted was another bat from Kohli, but with the latter looking a bit disgruntled, he failed to put forward the request,” the video description read.
In the video, Kohli is heard saying, “Ek match pehle le gaya tu bat. 2 match me tujhe 2 bat du? Teri wajah se na, jo meri baad me haalat hoti hai na (You took a bat one match back, now you want me to give you two bats in two matches? I have to face the consequences at the end).”
To this, Rinku responds, “Aap ki kasam khaa raha hu, fir nahi todunga kabhi bat. Toot ke rakhi hai, aapko dikhata hu (I swear on you I won’t break your bat ever again. I’ve kept the broken one, I can show it to you),” pleading with Kohli to lend him another bat.
The video has sparked speculation among fans and on social media, with some interpreting Rinku’s actions as a continued attempt to get a second bat from Kohli. Despite the light-hearted nature of the interaction, it has become a talking point, adding another layer of intrigue to Kohli’s controversial dismissal and the subsequent conversation.
