When will Pathirana and Theekshana return to the CSK Squad?

Amidst the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 season, the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) have received encouraging news regarding the availability of Sri Lankan talents Matheesha Pathirana and Maheesh Theekshana. Their manager, Amila Kalugalage, has issued an official statement confirming that both players are expected to rejoin the CSK camp after completing the visa process.

The absence of Pathirana and Theekshana in the recent match against Punjab Kings (PBKS) left a void in the CSK bowling lineup. While Mustafizur Rahman, the team’s key bowler, had to depart due to visa-related issues, Pathirana and Theekshana returned to their homeland to secure visas for the upcoming T20 World Cup.

When will Pathirana and Theekshana return?

“Theekshana and Pathirana will be joining the CSK camp on time after completing the Visa process for the upcoming CWC2024. Good news for #WhistlePodu fans. Expect fireworks from the two boys if they get an opportunity to ball,” stated Amila Kalugalage.

“We are hoping that their process is smooth. And we get them back for our next game up north (at Dharamshala),” mentioned CSK head coach Stephen Fleming.

Deepak Chahar doesn’t look good. Initial feeling wasn’t great. So we are waiting for more positive report. Physio and doctors will have a look,” added Fleming.

Expressing optimism about their return, Kalugalage emphasized the potential impact of Pathirana and Theekshana on the CSK squad.

“As Mahi bhai says, ‘enjoy your game and take care of your body,’ and that’s what we intend to do,” said Matheesha Pathirana.

CSK head coach Stephen Fleming also echoed the anticipation for Pathirana’s availability in the upcoming matches.

“We have got resources. It’s just they haven’t got time to be comfortable about their roles and us to be comfortable with the game plan that we are struggling with,” Fleming added.
