Arjuna de Silva, the head of Sri Lanka Cricket’s (SLC) medical panel, provided an update on Hasaranga’s injury situation. According to Arjuna de Silva, the team management is consulting with international doctors to determine whether the cricketer requires surgery.

“We are consulting foreign doctors to see whether he needs surgery or not. If he does, he will be out for at least three months. At the moment, the situation is not that great, and it’s highly unlikely that he can play in the World Cup,” Arjuna de Silva stated in an interview with The Sunday Times newspaper in Sri Lanka.
Hasaranga, a 26-year-old all-rounder, is a crucial part of Sri Lanka’s cricketing lineup, known for his spin bowling prowess and ability to contribute with the bat. He has been a key weapon in Sri Lanka’s bowling attack, and his absence would be a significant blow to the team.
