Nigeria Beats New Zealand for Maiden Women's U-19 World Cup Win

Nigeria marked their maiden appearance in the Women’s U-19 World Cup with a stunning two-run victory over New Zealand. The match had been reduced to 13 overs because of rain. This marks Nigeria’s first completed game in the tournament.

Batting first, Nigeria posted 65 for 6, with skipper Piety Lucky and Lilian Udeh contributing valuable runs. New Zealand’s chase began poorly as Kate Irwin was run out on the very first ball. Opener Emma McLeod followed soon after, falling to Usen Peace’s precise seam bowling.
