Rajinikanth offers a piece of advice for Sunrisers Hyderabad owner

The Indian Premier League (IPL) has always been a rollercoaster of emotions for fans and stakeholders, and the 2023 edition was no different. One such notable fan who expressed his concern was none other than the legendary superstar Rajinikanth. During the audio-launch of his upcoming movie Jailor, the superstar shared his thoughts on the IPL team SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) and its owner, Kavya Maran.

Rajinikanth’s empathy for Kavya Maran, the owner of SRH, was evident as he commented on her visible emotions while watching her team endure tough losses during IPL games. The rollercoaster ride of emotions that fans go through during IPL matches is well-known, but seeing the owner’s distress is a unique perspective that adds a human touch to the game.

In his address, Rajinikanth also offered some advice to Kavya’s father, Kalanithi Maran, the owner of the SRH franchise. He urged the team management to invest in better players to improve the team’s performance. The call for reinforcing the squad is not uncommon in IPL circles, as strong team compositions often play a crucial role in determining a team’s success.

Rajinikanth said

“Kalanithi Maran should put good players in Sunrisers Hyderabad team. I feel bad seeing Kavya like that on TV during the IPL”.

Indeed, the 2023 IPL season proved to be a challenging one for SunRisers Hyderabad. Finishing at the bottom of the points table and winning only four out of 14 matches was undoubtedly disappointing for the team and its fans. Under the captaincy of Aiden Markram, SRH showed glimpses of promise in some matches but struggled to maintain consistency due to a relatively inexperienced batting and bowling lineup.

Prior to the season, the SRH management invested wisely during the IPL 2023 auction, building what many believed to be a formidable lineup. Anticipation was high, and fans saw the team as a potential dark horse for the title. However, despite the astute decisions made by the owners and coaches during the auction, the team couldn’t deliver on the field, leaving fans disillusioned.
