The match between the Sunrisers Hyderabad and the Mumbai Indians in Hyderabad has produced multiple noteworthy moments. One such moment has been the cold-blooded reaction by Indian pacer Jasprit Bumrah after hitting SRH batter Abhinav Manohar.
The Sunrisers Hyderabad were put into bat by the Mumbai Indians after winning the toss. On a cracker of a pitch, SRH batters expected to have an evening full of runs. However, something else has transpired.
Trent Boult, known for his new ball bowling, took a wicket on his second ball of the match. He dismissed the big fish, Travis Head, for a duck. Head tried to play a big slash across the line of the ball. However, he miscued it and was caught at deep backward point.
At the end of the power play, SRH were in tatters at 24/4. They lost another wicket at 35, as half the side was back in the hut by the ninth over. Thanks to a brilliant innings from Heinrich Klaasen, who scored 71 off just 44 balls, SRH could muster a total of 143 runs in 20 overs.
On the first ball of the penultimate over of the innings, Jasprit Bumrah bowled a fast, searing full-toss at Abhinav Manohar. Bumrah had not taken a wicket yet. Moreover, Manohar had previously hit Bumrah for a six and a four.
Manohar was involved in a 99-run partnership with Klaasen. He missed the ball and was hit right below his stomach. The batter was evidently in much pain. He fell to the ground after being hit.
However, Bumrah did not check in on the SRH batter. Instead, he had a staredown with him and walked back towards his mark after the cold-blooded reaction. Fans were not impressed by Bumrah’s reaction to the situation and how unfazed he was by it.
SRH set a target of just 144 against MI. The Mumbai Indians chased down the target easily with 7 wickets in hand and 26 balls to spare.
